New School Year, New FCA

The start of the school year always has the excitement of new clothes, new school supplies, new teachers, and new friends. FCA has the same excitement. FCA is in the process of launching a new Chaplain Program! For years, FCA has focused on having large group meetings called Huddles. Though huddles will remain a focus for FCA, we are now going to try and implement the Chaplain Program as well.

The Chaplain Program will provide each school with students that serve as Chaplains for their school's athletics program. By having several students serving as chaplains we will be able to provide more services to each sport within the school. Corydon High School has been implementing this program for the past two years and it has been a great success. In addition to having weekly huddle meetings, a chapel service is offered for each sport at least twice throughout the year. This gives athletes from cheerleading to basketball an opportunity to come together as a team and learn more about Christ.

We are looking forward to FCA reaching deeper into our schools and touching the lives of more athletes. If you would like more information about this Chaplain Program, please contact Tammy at tammymorgan@fca.org.

FCA Leadership Camp 08

If you haven't already heard, this year's FCA Leadership Camp was amazing! Thanks to the many of you who support this ministry, we were able to send over 30 student athletes from Southern Indiana to camp this year. We truly count this as a blessing because for many of these student athletes, this camp is the first time they get to truly hear truth and be encouraged to walk boldly for Christ. In the four short days of camp each student athlete got to hear challenging messages by Mark Cahill, a modern day Paul...take a faith walk, in which they were taught how to share their faith door-to-door...attend break-out sessions on topics they needed most to hear...participate in daily quiet times...compete in athletic challenges...and able to meet and share will fellow believers from the tri-state area! Thank you again for supporting this ministry. FCA is one of the last ministries able to fight the fight directly on the fields of public schools...your support is necessary and making an impact!
Make sure to check out our pictures from camp!

3rd Annual Golf Scramble

On Monday, August 4th, we hosted the 3rd Annual Southern Indiana FCA Golf Scramble at Covered Bridge Golf Club. We had 60 golfers take the links in support of the FCA ministry and we count each golf swing as a blessing, because it meant that money was being raised to send kids to camp, provide bibles to our youth, enable our staff to share the gospel on the fields and courts of Southern Indiana, and it possibly meant eternity for someone!

The weather was hot, but by the looks of our pictures it didn't seem to dampen the fun and fellowship. Thank you to all our golfers and volunteers. It is great to see so many come together for the cause of Jesus!
